SDG 6 – Indicator 6.2.1 – Water consumption tracking
Water Consumption and Tracking in Universitas Sriwijaya
Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI) is a campus with the largest area in Indonesia approximately 756.76 Ha. UNSRI collaborates with the South Sumatra Government and “Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum” (PDAM) to supply clean water in the campus environment, especially on the Palembang Campus. While the main water source at the Indralaya Campus, UNSRI utilises water from the Kelekar River which is located around the campus. The source at Indralaya Campus also comes from the utilisation of groundwater (aquifers).

Besides having a large area, UNSRI also has a large number of students. In 2023, UNSRI has 35,463 students and 2452 employees so the total campus population is 37,915 people. With this large number, UNSRI has used 42,576 m3 of water so the total water consumption per person during 2023 is 1.12 m3/person.
