It has been widely acknowledged that education is a basic building block of every society, regardless of origin, religion, and ethnicity. Article 26 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “Everyone has the right to education”. However, Covid-19 outbreak from 2019 to 2021 still left remnant effects on some students. Universitas Sriwijaya was understanding that building local action was part of the public response and could help building resilience of students. Therefore, the university welcome all prospective students from all over Indonesia, including those having excellent academic achievement but they were economically constrained. To provide similar access to education, Universitas Sriwijaya provided tuition fee adjustment (UKT I to VIII), depending on economic capacity of the students.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.2 Publication of SDG 2 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI) is also dedicated to addressing SDG 2: Zero Hunger. This goal aims to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. The university’s efforts in this area can help contribute to a world where everyone has access to enough food for a healthy and active life. The steps taken include:
- Caring for Communities.
- Ensuring Availability of and Accessibility to Rice for All Campus Members.
- Self-grown Vegetables in Urban Areas.
- Agricultural Clinic.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.3 Publication of SDG 3 Reports
SDG 3 aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. The initiatives of Universitas Sriwijaya in this area are expected to have a positive impact on the health and well-being of individuals within their community and beyond. The university’s efforts in this area include:
- Providing clinics on campus, which are available and accessible for public.
- Collaborating with the Palembang City Health Office, faculty members and students of the Faculty of Public Health have been building an accessible a health profile system for each disease and health condition.
- Organizing a campaign on stunting prevention.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.4 Publication of SDG 4 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya also focuses on SDG 4: Quality Education. This goal aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The universitas has been developed and using its own virtual lecture application called US-CamZi. The university’s efforts in this area include:

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.5 Publication of SDG 5 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya also pays attention to SDG 5: Gender Equality. This goal aims to achieve gender equality and empower women. By addressing issues related to gender discrimination and promoting equal opportunities for all genders, the university contributes to a more inclusive and just society.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.6 Publication of SDG 6 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya addresses SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. This goal aims to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. To ensure sustainable water supply and sanitation on campus, the university has been prioritizing 4 scenarios:
- Water Conservation.
- Wastewater Treatment.
- Water-efficient Appliances Usage.
- Water Sprinkler.

Universitas Sriwijaya also addresses SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. This goal aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. Realizing the great benefits of clean energy in slowing down climate change, the university now has been able to implement 3 strategies, as follows:
- Solar Lamps.
- Research in Clean Energy.
- Green Building.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.8 Publication of SDG 8 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya also prioritizes SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. This goal aims to promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. The idea is that everyone should have access to dignified livelihoods and be able to provide for themselves and their families without facing exploitation or poverty. To ensure decent work and economic growth for all campus members the university exercises 2 (two) scenarios, as follows:
- Triple-Bottom Campus Development.
- Talent Pool.

Industry, innovation, and infrastructure are three important areas that contribute to economic growth and development. Universitas Sriwijaya as an educational entity continues to strive to make a positive contribution to these 3 components of SDG 9 through the following scheme:

- Center of Excellence (CoE).
- Road-map to a World Class University.
- Comfortable Campus Environment.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.10 Publication of SDG 10 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya is committed to promoting SDG-10 reduced inequality. Therefore, the Universitas Sriwijaya has wide and equally open access to all activities on campus without discrimination. By reducing inequality, the university can also work towards reducing income inequality, improving access to education and healthcare, and creating a more equitable society where everyone has an equal chance to succeed.
Universitas Sriwijaya has implemented various programs and initiatives aiming to reduce inequality on campus. These included scholarships for students from low-income families, creating partnerships with local businesses to provide job opportunities for graduates, and community outreach programs focused on improving healthcare and education access in rural areas. Through these efforts, the university has been working towards promoting social mobility and reducing the gap between different socio-economic groups in society.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.11 Publication of SDG 11 Reports
Realizing that earning in a healthy learning in a healthy environment helps students, academics, and administrative staffs acquiring a deeper understanding and sound knowledge of the subject matter, the development of Universitas Sriwijaya is based on a Triple Bottom Approach in order to create Triple Resiliencies. Therefore, the university provides the campus with:
- Sustainable Campus Setting.
- Arboretum on campus.
- Taman Firdaus (Garden of Eden).
- Promoting Sustainable Commuting.

SDG 12 encourages Universitas Sriwijaya to use resources more efficiently, reduce waste and adopt sustainable practices. The goal highlights the needs for reducing food waste, managing organic, in-organic and toxic waste on campus. Th approach exercised include:
- Quality Water Supply.
- Reducing the Use of Paper and Plastic.
- Recycling Organic Waste.
- Inorganic Waste Treatment.
- Toxic Waste Treatment.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.13 – Publication of SDG 13 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya is committed to contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 13, which focuses on taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. In this regard, apart from water conservation (SDG 6), energy (SDG 7), infrastructure (SDG 9), Triple Bottom Approach (SDG 11), and resource efficiency (SDG 12), the university also has carried out various activities to support the SDGs 13. The actions that have been taken include:
- Education-based Approach.
- Sustainability-oriented Curriculum.
- Sustainability-oriented Research and Publication.
- Calling for Collective Actions.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.14 Publication of SDG 14 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya regard that SDG 6 and SDG 14 are 2 inseparable SDGs. Both focus on ensuring the sustainability of life below water. Specifically, SDG 6 aims to improve access to clean drinking water and sanitation, while SDG 14 focuses on protecting water ecosystems by reducing pollution levels and preserving biodiversity. By implementing effective water conservation strategies and wastewater treatment practices, the university can help ensure a sustainable future for our water ecosystems and all the creatures that call it home. The university restocks 20 species of indigenous fish in reservoirs on campus.

To implement SDG 15 on campus, Universitas Sriwijaya has promoted sustainable practices by implementing the following SDGs, as explained in the previous sections. Those practices are actually interconnected, as shown in the following figure.

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.16 Publication of SDG 16 Reports
Universitas Sriwijaya is integrating peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development into campus policies and practices in order to create a more just and equitable society both within the campus community and beyond. As described in the SDG 8 that, there is a growing trend towards achieving equity in gender, particularly in regard to academic programs and hiring practices. The university has taken steps to actively recruit female students and staff members, in order to promote diversity and ensure equal opportunities for all individuals. In addition, to support the implementation of these laws and regulations, the university has assigned an Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID).

SDG 17 – Indicator 17.3.17 Publication of SDG 17 Reports
SDG 17 specifically highlights the importance of building partnerships and collaboration among academia, governments, private sector organizations, and civil society groups. To promote sustainable practices and develop educational programs on campus that raise awareness about environmental issues, Universitas Sriwijaya always encourages the involvement of faculty member, students, and student organizations in Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.
